A label that writes letters.
AAROVELLE makes one kind of wardrobe: short, clean, retro pieces for walking by the water. Sailor collars, buttoned minis, cropped jackets, mini bucket bags and neckerchiefs, all drawn in the same hand.
The idea
Letters from the deck.
Think of the notes you send from a trip: short, bright and to the point. We wanted clothes that feel the same. Sea air, a cabin window, quick steps along a quay, turned into a small set of shapes that work together without effort.
That is why everything is cropped, clean and a little graphic. A collar you can read from behind, a row of buttons that sets the rhythm, a round bag in proportion to both.
How we design
Back view first.
Every collar top starts with the square back flap. Then we set the stripe or piping, then the neckline, then the length. Skirts start with where the buttons sit; bags start with how they hang next to a mini.
Each style in the collection is its own design, with its own cut, closure, pocket or trim. We do not recolour one piece to make a range look bigger.
What we leave out
No uniforms, no badges.
The sailor collar has a long history in everyday fashion, and that is the history we draw from. You will not find insignia, crests or borrowed emblems on our pieces, and we do not make performance claims: these are clothes for sunny walks, not for sailing.
Gold-tone buttons are a colour, not a precious metal. Where a detail matters, we describe it plainly.
